My background, my connection
to Birmingham Hall Green & Moseley
I was born and grew up in this constituency. I am married with three children who have all attended local state schools, colleges, and universities. I was privileged to be the first from my family to attend university and to fund my education, I worked in retail, restaurants and private hire driver. I worked hard to qualify as a Barrister and have been practicing from St Philips Chambers in Birmingham. With more than 25 years of experience in the legal profession, I have served as a Senior Crown Prosecutor for CPS West Midlands and currently hold the position of Grade 4 Counsel, the highest grade on the Advocates Panel. Throughout my career, I have handled some of the most serious and sensitive cases, including murders, serious sexual offences, complex frauds, and serious public order offences.
Beyond my legal practice, I have also served as the Chairman of an established local charity serving our communities. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I worked tirelessly to address the challenges faced by the most vulnerable members of our society, particularly in ensuring adequate housing and support for homeless individuals.
